Progressometer

Right I'm going to create a list of all the stuff I have in my empire army currently which fall under standard tournament regulations. The main two that I'm following is that no unit may be larger than 40 models and no unit may be more that 450 points. So here's everything I want to get done.

1 arch lector on war alter
3 warrior priests on foot
1 mounted warrior priest
1 captain Bsb
1 mounted captain Bsb
6 wizards
1 engineer
40 swordsmen
20 halberdiers
20 handgunners
10 crossbowmen
20 archers
20 (ish) free company
10 knights
6 demigryph knights
5 reiksguard
2 cannons
1 mortar
5 pistoliers
37 flagellants
1 hellblaster volley gun

To try and prevent me getting bored and stopping I'm going to try and paint some of the larger blocks in groups of 20 or even 10. I'm going to paint the knights in 5s and the demigryphs in 3s.

So until next time

Huzzah

So I've done it, sort of. Well I've managed to fully paint and base 1 miniature bring the total fully completed empire miniatures to 1 and the total models fully completed this year to erm well 1...

But anyway here he is. The first swordsman for my empire.

And from behind

So that's the painting off to a start. Hopefully I will get all 40 of these blokes up on here soon

Until next time

Rules for life

So the move is pretty much complete and I should be getting internet in the next couple of days. I've started my course which is going quite well and I'm starting to get a feel for Leeds. Hopefully I'll properly be up and running soon.

Right onto the important stuff. So last week I turned 20. So I'm no longer a reckless over excited teenager, I now have to be "sensible". So I am going to enforce some rules I tried to create about 12 months ago. Back then I was preparing for a tournament and had a large pile of empire miniatures in need of painting. Being the lazy easily distracted fool that I am I allowed myself to ignore this until 1 week before the event. I ended up being up till 1 or 2 in the morning the night before to finish. Even then I ended up with a base coated army at best. Here is the final result.

So that was almost a year ago and I said I would go to no events with an army like that again. Well I stuck to it, I haven't been to any. But the army still looks like that. So my plan is to get working on these units. Mainly because I want to get to know my local game group and don't want to be known as the guy with the badly base coated armies.

So that is the new mission.

Until next time

Ain't no fun

So the move is going well. We are in Leeds but haven't managed to unpack yet and still need to measure up for some more furniture. I can tell you, moving house ain't no fun. The most irritating thing (which will probably put this blog on hold even Longer) is the fact that our internet won't be up and running till the 20th at the earliest so I'm having to use my phone at the moment. However I have been work on a few more 28m inquisitor characters to keep myself sane so I will have some more nice minis to show you soon. Until next time

W-][-P

Right so I've been working on a couple of conversions in the last couple of days. Nothing to major but I feel they have a lot of character, which is a good thing seeing as they are the start of an inquisitor warband in 28mm. This will be my second warband which I will have put together at 28mm. I have another 3 warbands at 54mm but annoyingly GW have ended that line of fantastic miniatures, but I'm not going to moan about that. So on with the show, this is the warband of inquisitor Edmund Redden and his two companions, father Sebastian Torr and enforcer sergeant Grish Harken.

Redden is a simple conversion and one which can be found in one form or another all over the net right now. Torr is made from an old empire warrior priest with the hammers removed and more imperial insignia added. Nothing says imperial priest like a massive double headed eagle sceptre. Harken is a basic guardsmen conversion with a few weapons attached together to make some of his more interesting equipment

So that's the start of my INQ28 warband. I intend to make a second soon. Hopefully you will soon get some back story for these guys and some painted pics as well.

Until next time

toy soldiers and life

So what have I got done in my long absence. Well I'm afraid to say I don't have to much to show. In the last year and a bit I've done a little work on my eldar (minor conversions no painting though), base coated my entire empire army in a week leading up to a tournament and assembled some terrain. The one thing I have got done which I am quite pleased with is another malifaux crew. This time its the icy chill of Rasputina's cult of December. I will put some picks on the on the bottom of this post.

Now as that's all I've got for the toy soldiers part I better do the other half of the title, the life part. So last September I moved out of my parents house and into my own tiny over priced flat in Oxford with my girlfriend. This is one of the main reasons why I have got so little done. Looking after your own place really takes it out of you when your also working six days a week. Combined with the fact that having a bedroom a corridor kitchen a bathroom and an everything else room doesn't leave much room for toy soldiers so I have had to down size my gaming in the last year. However things are looking up, earlier this year I got offered a place at Leeds city college to do an access to higher education course in business. My plan is to use this to get into uni and do accountancy. So in about a week I will once again be putting the blog on hold for a couple of days while I move al my stuff up north. Anyhow that pretty much sums up everything, I think. I'm sure I'll find other things to show off from the last year but now on with the show.

Here is Rasputina in all her glory.

Right so there they all are in all their frozen glory. I hope you enjoyed my first real post

Until next time

An unexpected sequael

Right so I'm back, I think. Well at least I'm going to try to be. I can't really be classed as back until I have something with more substance to post. Anyway the important part is that I going to be making new posts (hopefully regularly) to show all the war gaming wonders that I'm working on.

Any of my previous readers (all 2 of them) may well notice that I have a new title. So effectively its a new blog with a new, well the same purpose I suppose. I will put a post glossing over some of what I've got done in my absence. Until next time
